Welcome readers from Show and Tell with Michelle you are on track in the Paste-fully Creative Blog Hop with Close to my Heart! We are featuring our fabulous new Texture paste and coordinating products in a project of our choice this month!
I absolutely LOVE texture paste and other mixed media products so when I found out that Close to my Heart was going to start selling Texture paste and other fabulous products I was right in with both hands!
For this months creative project I did a layout of my late Mother and my youngest son, one of my favorite pictures ever. For this layout I used the beautiful papers and embellishments from the Boutique Line from Close to my Heart. I wanted the focal point to be the picture so I clustered my elements around it. I knew I wanted to use texture paste with this layout and wanted it to stand out but again not take away from my picture.
So to make this layout I took our texture paste and mixed it with some Heather re-inker to get a subtle gray color. I made a stencil using the stencil paper from Close to my Heart and just did little lines using my Cricut. I matted my picture and had everything glued into place and then applied my stencil and texture paste. It is really easy to use, a small amount goes a long way! I then used my heat tool to dry it. I did this for two reasons…one I was impatient and wanted to get my layout completed, and two I wanted the texture paste to ‘puff’ up a bit and heating it up does that. Once it was dried I layered some embellishments around and added my journaling. The embellishments went perfectly with what message I was trying to convey.
